Nothing
05:46
|
|||
Wake up
Drink your coffee
Get in a cab, you're late, it's time to go
I don't know
Why I bother
Hanging onto truths that I can't know
So keep pushing on
Keep pushing on
If what you said was true
There's nothing I can do
'cause I'm nothing
Without you
So come on
Dry your eyes now
We walked on the moon; get out of bed
So keep pushing on
Keep pushing on
If what you said was true
There's nothing I can do
'cause I'm nothing
Without you
You've been making a fool of me
And there's nothing I can do
I've been trying to start again
But I'm nothing without you

Fool
03:18
|
|||
When I first looked at you
My whole world switched to black and white
And as the color fades
I wonder if you're worth the fight
So cruel
How you lied to me
But it took me 'til now
To realize I'm the fool
For believing you
So now I see that you're
A technicolor fairytale
And as my eyes adjust
I see that I'm the one who failed
So cruel
How you lied to me
But it took me 'til now
To realize I'm the fool
For believing you
You can't hurt me no more
But it took me 'til now
To realize I'm the fool
For believing you

Hostage
03:58
|

I know what you're used to
That I can't refuse you
You can't will this heart of mine to break
When we were younger
Our love was like hunger
Felt like a risk we had to take
You swore this was different
Well how is it different?
And tell me what difference does it make?
Been holding me hostage for so long
I'm ready to switch my side
I feel like a ghost as I watch you pass by
I can't keep this up for much longer
I'm ready to cross the line
But how many ways can you say that you're sorry
For the things you can't undo
She looks in the mirror
And speaks; I don't hear her
And everything feels made for TV
Where things that are crazy
Seem perfectly normal
And everyone has someplace to be
So maybe I'm dreaming
My consciousness streaming
But I'm not convinced this dreams for me
Been holding me hostage for so long
I'm ready to switch my side
I feel like a ghost as I watch you pass by
I can't keep this up for much longer
I'm ready to cross the line
But how many ways can you say that you're sorry
For the things you can't undo

For You
05:39
|
|||
This feeling spreading like a cancer
And I can't seem to keep it down
I've been looking for an answer
A way to turn this thing around
But you already knew
You already knew
You walk around like it's a riddle
A secret you're afraid to say
I'm not as stupid as I look girl
I'm smart enough to walk away
But you already knew
You already knew
You tried to be something you're not already
You followed me somewhere you're not prepared to go
And now I know
I'll never write a decent melody for you
So now we've put it on the table
And I can act like I'm surprised
But I'm addicted to the fable
The innocence behind the lies
But you already knew
You already knew
You tried to be something you're not already
You followed me somewhere you're not prepared to go
And now I know
I'll never write a decent melody for you

Waste
05:31
|

I just got home and read your note and I can't understand a single word you wrote. Like a hangman who forgets to bring the rope, I can't tell what I need from what I hope. Can't let this feeling go to waste, but I can only feel it when I see you face to face. And even though there's such a bitter aftertaste, no, I can't let this feeling go to waste. It feels like...
I thought that chords and melodies would save me, but my demons always bring me to my knees. And the cure is so much worse than the disease. I can't go on pretending. So take my number of your phone and soon I'll fade away into a person you don't know. Another opportunity I've blown. But it won't be a waste.
I can't let this feeling go to waste.
